Susan Fang's Futuristic, Optimistic & Idealistic SS26 Air Evolution Collection at LFW

Susan Fang has returned to London Fashion Week with her latest SS26 Air Evolution collection, following her AW25 Air Memory Milan debut supported by Dolce & Gabbana in February 2025. Fang has done it again by bringing creativity alive; With carefully handcrafted pieces, then harmonising with the calmness of nature and futuristic elements of balloons surrounding the atmosphere.

The collection speaks through a sci-fi point-of-view, where there’s a parallel universe of the current year 2025, mirroring it to the year 5202. Fang and her husband (Head of Footwear and Accessories of Susan Fang), Orelio de Jonghe, provides a fresh and optimistic lens into the future. In collaboration with nature and advanced technology, the Barbican Conservatory was unrecognisable as it was welcomed with movements of bubbles, giant clear space-like centerpiece, live therapeutic music accompanied by Kat Collings' contemporary dance, down to the comforting scent by Penhaligon's ---- details that help set the mood for her fashion pieces to shine.

It wouldn't be a Susan Fang collection without her signature pleats and hand embroidered beads. The enhanced Air-Pleat techniques, 3D printed mini flowers around the ends of skirts and the earthly tones perfectly balance the innovation of fashion. The sheerness and flow of tulle translated its dreamlike and amusing message. If you have a keen eye, you may be able to spot that some of the ready-to-wear items had decoded mosaic discreetly tailored. Each carefully handcrafted “digital pixels” in vibrant colours as their vision of the year 5202 where fashion pieces can be used as a form of communication.

Fang is no stranger for her pure yet unique Bridal Line. Prior to her dreamy rose-filled wedding held in Shanghai, Fang wore her AW25 Air Flower Clustered Bridal Gown. Sentimental filled as Fang's Mother had delicately curated layers of tulle clustered into small roses, romantic and feminine symbolisms filled the gown. This season, Fang used the same technique, creating yet another eternal rose filled wedding gown, showcasing the love and heart-felt essence behind creating each and every piece. Romance filled as soft and dainty tulle and organza filled wedding gowns takes the runway.

Fresh out of the collaborations with Nike, Melissa and Rockfish, these shoes have been the hottest talk of the town! Susan Fang x Nike sneakers had screen-printed ripple and pearl bubbles, soft and slightly reflective, grounded sneakers. Melissa's collaboration featured their signature jelly shoes with delicate wildflowers growing alongside their breathable jellies. Lastly, Rockfish Weatherwear's furry boots and mary janes debuted at the same time as the collection. The innocent and youthful pastels complemented each outfit like a dream. The footwear of the season was definitely the cherry on top.
